Chapel Men’s Fellowship Golf Tournament helps fund community services

By Wayne Tidwell

Members of the Big Canoe Chapel Men’s Fellowship during 2018 have built wheelchair ramps, visited nursing homes, provided spiritual and activity support for men with needs, inspected and conducted repairs on widows’ homes, sponsored inspirational movie nights and helped charitable organizations throughout Dawson and Pickens counties.

Now they need community support to continue their good works.

Their sole fundraising event that makes their efforts possible is the annual Men’s Fellowship Golf Tournament. The 2018 12th annual golf tournament will take place Sept. 19 at the Big Canoe Golf Club. Registration deadline is Sept. 12.

Open to men and women, the 4-player scramble shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. with lunch following play. Good food and chances to win raffle prizes will provide for afternoon fun.

Non-golfers can participate through contributions or through an array of sponsorship opportunities ranging from $50 to $500.

The Big Canoe Chapel Men’s Fellowship is a Christian social organization that creates opportunities to serve others and to foster personal and spiritual growth. All donations and proceeds are used to help those in Pickens and Dawson counties who cannot help themselves.

Registration is open until September 12. Contributions and registration can be made at or by mailing to Big Canoe Chapel Men’s Fellowship, 10434 Big Canoe, Big Canoe (Jasper), GA 30143,
